Bio
Larissa has always had a deep connection to art and design, poring over the works of masters and practicing figure and portrait drawing daily as a child. Her competing interests in science and the natural environment led her to a B.S. in Geology from Union College in upstate New York. Upon leaving a fifteen-year career teaching middle school science, she found herself experiencing a sudden and acute pastel painting compulsion after unearthing a box of old Alphacolor pastels. Now pursuing art as a career, Larissa is making time to paint daily alongside raising her rambunctious 4-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter. In addition to painting, Larissa is an accomplished cyclist and calligrapher. Though she got started in the Washington D.C. area, Larissa is now home in New Hampshire where she was born and raised
Larissa aims to capture the vibrant, verdant forests and mountains of New England that bring her joy. She is ever the student and is always pushing herself to learn from other pastelists to discover new methods and perspectives. One of her favorite subjects is any that captures a moment in action with special people and pets and she is always pleased to help others capture their most treasured memories.
